Starting out with this blog thingy

Well, as most of you know I have been working nights for the last couple of months which has really taken its toll on me. Mostly because when I don't have to work I still can't sleep during the darkness hours, so I decided that is was time to jump on the family band wagon and start this blog thingy.
So this week we got to have Cynthia's little brother with us and that was a whole lot of fun. On Tuesday we took him to Raging Waters in Sacramento and they have this promotion going on where you get a one day pass they give you a season pass so Cynthia will probably be using that a little bit more. We had a fun time and then went to Historic Sacramento which has some neat museums and little things. The favorite for Rick was this old school candy store that literally had candy up to the ceilings and barrels full of candy. It was really fun. Then we went to Joe's Crab Shack and I am still trying to run the amount of crab off that I had to eat. Tonight is our last night with Rick so we got out the little grill and had some very tasty burgers and chicken.
Well other than working nights the job is going really well. I don't get to talk too much about it but I was able to get qualified and am really working hard on reaching my journeyman status. I have one more test to take for that which should be happening in a few weeks and then they will let me start school. I am preparing to get into ground school in preparation for my pilots license and fortunately the job will pay most of that other than the books.
Cynthia is getting the hang of being a stay at home wife although I think by the time she does one of these places that she applies at will call and then we will have two incomes in this house which I won't really argue with. She will be taking some classes in the fall and then continue on towards her teaching degree.
If any of you don't know Cynthia and I went to Texas for a wedding reception that the Sterling’s put on for us. It was a great trip and we had such a fun time and wished you all could have been there. To the credit of my in-laws especially my mother in law it was wonderful. They did the back yard up really pretty and we really had a good time. While we were down in Texas we bought a 2006 Sierra GMC truck it is a silver color and when we first saw it we fell in love. It has a large crew cab that has great storage and when the time comes.... in the future.... will also fit a baby seat. We were able to drive it back the 2,000 to Yuba and now are awaiting the license plates so we can drive it some more. Well that is all for now. We love you all, and really hope to keep in touch through this thingy if not by other means.
